Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the interpretation of Banhasasim-tang (BHSST) prescription in order to obtain the traditional significance.
Methods : We have analyzed the interpretation on the BHSST prescription through translations and comparisons based on classic books about the oriental medical prescriptions.
Results :
1. The source of BHSST in Donguibogam (ÔÔì¢ÜÄÊü) is Sanghanron (ß¿ùÎÖå) and Geumgueyoryak (ÑÑ?é©ÕÔ) etc.
2. Meaning of ¡°Banhasasim (Úâù¾Þáãý)¡± in the BHSST name, the word ¡°Banha¡± is one of the herb which palys a role as a Monarch herb (ÏÖå·) in BHSST, the word ¡°Sa¡± means a function to penetrate and eliminate a disorder, and the word ¡°Sim¡± means an epigastrium in the area below the heart organ and it doesn¡¯t mean a heart organ itself.
3. The effect of BHSST is penetrating and eliminating focal distention and fullness in the epigastrium to normalize the function of a gastrointestinal tract (Þ¡êÖѦÒö).
4. According to wide range of symptom, BHSST can be utilized in various ways by adding or subtracting herbs.
Conclusions : In this study, we have demonstrated various methodologies. This paper will be useful to the future researchers and clinicians to conduct a study on herbal medicines such as BHSST.
